the little top!

by the social circus

Swing. Roll. Climb.Wobble.Together.

Circus for little ones, with you right there in it. A weekly class for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and their grown-ups. It's play, not performance, at whatever pace your little one sets. Wandering off to look at the mats counts too.

From $18 a week, paid weekly. No big upfront term fee. Classes start Monday 1 February 2027.

What happens in class

A little bit of structure, a lot of play.

Every class is built around a theme. There's circle time, games, an obstacle course and time on the aerial equipment, with you joining in the whole way through.

Circle time

We start together on the mat with a hello and an introduction to the day's theme.

Games

Moving games linked to the theme, played as a group with lots of laughing.

Obstacle course

A course to crawl, climb, roll and balance through, at your child's own pace.

Aerials

Time on the aerial equipment, with you right beside them.

Who you'll be playing with

Meet Miss Gabby

Miss Gabby leads every Little Top class. She's been teaching movement to little ones for more than 20 years, and she's studying to become a librarian, so story time is in very good hands.

She's helped in every class by one of our Teaching Assistants. Miss Gabby holds a current First Aid certificate and Working With Children Check.

How it works

Weekly, not all at once.

No big term fee up front. You pay week by week while you come.

  1. Sign up online

Choose your class and sign up through our booking system. Your weekly payment starts from your first class.

  2. Book your Monday spot

Book your child into their class in the GymMaster app.

  3. Come and play

Classes follow the NSW school terms, and payments pause in the school holidays. Join in any week, even mid-term.

  4. Messy play week

The last week of each term is messy play: taste-safe, nut-free and joyfully sticky.

No lock-in. There's no minimum term. Need a break? Pause your membership with 48 hours' notice. To stop altogether, just give us 2 weeks' notice.

Why play like this

Moving is how little ones learn.

We're not promising a smarter or school-ready child. We're offering a fun, varied hour of moving together each week, run by people who understand how small bodies develop.

Lots of active play, every day

Australia's movement guidelines say toddlers and preschoolers need at least 3 hours of varied activity a day, spread through the day. For 3 to 5 year olds, at least an hour of that should be energetic play. Babies need several active sessions a day, especially floor play.

Movement skills can be practised

Running, jumping, throwing, catching and balancing aren't just "there or not". A review of 30 trials found that movement programs for preschoolers improved these skills. The researchers note the evidence is still early, and most studies only measured change straight after the program.

You being there matters

A review of programs that directly involved parents found movement skills improved in all nine studies. Parent and child doing the activity together was one of the most useful parts. The studies were small, so treat this as promising rather than proven.

Questions parents ask

Good questions.

Do I join in?

Yes. Every Little Top class is a parent and child class, so you're on the mat with your child the whole time. It's time set aside just for playing together. No circus experience needed, for you or them.

Can a grandparent, nanny or other carer bring my child?

Of course. Any grown-up who cares for your child is welcome to come and join in.

Can I bring a younger sibling who isn't enrolled?

Yes, little brothers and sisters are welcome to come along. We just ask that they don't take away from the class for the enrolled children, so if a sibling needs your attention, it's fine to step aside for a bit.

I have two kids in different classes. Can we do both?

Yes. The classes run back to back, so you can do two in a row. Each child has their own weekly membership. We've kept the price as low as we can for everyone, so there isn't a separate second-child price.

What if my child won't join in, wanders off or has a meltdown?

Totally fine, and very normal. Watching is learning too. Little ones join in when they're ready, and nobody minds a wander, a cry or a snack break. You won't be judged here.

Can I feed my baby or change a nappy during class?

Yes. Stop whenever your child needs a feed, a cuddle or a change, and come back in when you're ready. We don't have a change table, but you're very welcome to change your little one in the studio.

What should we wear?

Comfy clothes you can both move and sit on the floor in. Bare feet or grip socks are both fine, but no shoes in the studio. Nothing with zips, hooks or metal, as they can damage the equipment, and jewellery off or covered.

Bring a bottle of water for each of you.

What's in messy play, and what about allergies?

The last week of each term is messy play. What we use changes from term to term, but it's always taste-safe and nut-free. Tell us about any allergies or sensitivities when you sign up, and we'll make sure your child can join in safely.

Who runs the classes?

Miss Gabby leads every class, with one of our Teaching Assistants helping. You can meet her further up the page.

Is it safe?

Our rigging is certified by an engineer, there are mats under every piece of equipment, and every class has a lead teacher and an assistant. Miss Gabby holds a current First Aid certificate and Working With Children Check. And you're right there with your child the whole time.

My child is neurodivergent or has a disability. Can they come?

Yes. Circus is for everyone. We adapt the class to the children in it, not the other way round. Let us know what helps your child and we'll plan around it.

Can I use Active Kids or Creative Kids vouchers?

Not for The Little Top, sorry. The NSW Active and Creative Kids vouchers are for school-enrolled children. They can be used for our Kids and Teens classes once your child starts school.
